This article aims to present the results of the analysis of selected aspects of transport accessibility (from the land and water) of two coastal areas situated on the Baltic coast of the Western Pomeranian region. It was assumed that transport accessibility affects the number of tourists visiting the selected areas – Kołobrzeg County (mainly the city of Kołobrzeg) and Świnoujście. The analysis was based on econometric modeling. For the timescale investigated (1995–2016), linear and parabolic trends were estimated and, as a result of their extrapolation, tourism forecasts in both coastal areas were estimated up to the year 2020. Statistical data for the years 1995–2016 was collected by the Central Statistical Office of Poland. In addition, literature and online resource research was conducted.

Marinas are of key importance in the development of sustainable marine tourism, whereas requirements posed by certification organizations can have a motivating effect and contribute to the implementation of environmentally and socially friendly solutions. The aim of this study is to analyze two world-leading marina categorization systems: the Gold Anchor Scheme and the IMCI Blue Star Marina Certification System. A special focus is made on the criteria relating to sustainable development, such as requirements concerning services, equipment, and management, posed to marinas by the accreditation bodies. The following research question has been defined: Do certification and categorization contribute to the development of sustainable sailing tourism? The results of the conducted analyses show that part of the requirements set by the accreditation organizations running two of the most popular marina categorization schemes worldwide relate to the achievement of sustainable development goals. The requirements motivate the management at marinas applying for a category to implement solutions that are friendly to the environment and society, and contribute to the growth of local economies. The research results indicate that the categorization of marinas is not only of some marketing value but is also a useful tool in the development of sustainable marine tourism.

This study discusses the results of research into changes in the tourist traffic in port cities, which may pose challenges to the planning of city logistics. The analysis draws on the statistical data on tourism. The study sample includes four cities located in Poland’s two coastal areas at the Baltic Sea: Szczecin and Świnoujście (West Pomeranian region), and Gdańsk and Gdynia (Pomeranian region). Covering the years 1995–2022, the analysis has been complemented with a review of the literature on the role of city logistics in solving problems caused by the development of tourism. The rapid growth of tourism generates an increased flow of people, goods, and information, which may be detrimental to the smooth functioning of a city. Insights into the development of tourist traffic over the years may facilitate the planning of city logistics and reconcile the function of a tourist destination with that of a port, which the cities have to perform. It may also support efforts that aim to ensure the sustainable development of port cities.
